| i dont have internet right now. hence lack of posts. i could have
internet if i had wireless....but i dont and i havent bought that thing
i need yet. i will someday when i have more money.
things are well. i get lonely sometimes. but mostly im having fun
living on my own working in a really cool job teaching amusing kids
eating lotsa ritas ice and becoming a regular at the public library.
o...and scrubs. i watch a lot of scrubs.
life doesnt really feel any differant other than most of my paycheck goes to rent.
i like it here for the most part. only i miss my family and friends.
and my being shy doesnt help in the making new friends department.
thats my post. im tired and hungry.

| dear laurel, its been about a year since you left. so much has happened since then. im graduating in four weeks. im looking for a job in state college near jordan. finally no more long distance for him and i. my cousin moved in with us. im not sure how long he is staying. i have a new baby cousin. her name is kyra. i went to new orleans this summer. there was alot of pain there. there is still so much to do. ive decided to go to africa next. ill visit italy someday....like we said, remember? dearest laurel. life has just kept going. thats one of the hardest things to understand. how someone can be there one day and gone the next...and yet everything else keeps going. spring is beautiful here this year. its come slowly. so the anticipation has made it even more enjoyable. ill tell you about it.... the hot sun beats on my bare arms. hot and comforting.
the cool breeze blows the curls into my face. mysterious, intriguing.
the creek, it sings to me chattering about life. joyful, contagious.
the flowers make my eyes water and my nose itch. beautiful, nonetheless.
the birds have returned. they are happy to be back.
the leaves have just begun to peek out of the trees. new life has come.
mostly its the sun though. ive missed it. its light makes the colors so much brighter.
i just cant believe its been a year. i cant imagine what is going on in your family's and nate's mind this week. dear God....what were you doing at this moment one year ago? every time i think that I pray that you were happy. I pray that you were living life to its fullest. and then I realize that i need to do that as well. you were happy when I last saw you. busy in your last email. i remember you as joyful, comforting, understanding, funny, i never knew what was going to happen next with you. we had fun laurel didnt we? we tramped all over sydney together. classes, running, stargazing. everyday life with a good friend. you were a good friend laurel. we laughed so hard together. we complained. we got angry. frustrated and homesick. and it was ok. because we would laugh about all that too. your smile was contagious. o God i miss her smile. dear God,
please tell laurel i say hello. please tell her i am thinking about her. please tell her i wish she was still here, but that im glad she gets to be safe and happy with You. please tell her i love her. tell her she is loved and missed. | | |
